School of Hard Knocks: Denver Roller Dolls 2009

I just wrapped up the layout for the Denver Roller Doll’s 2009 Calendar. Entitled ‘School of Hard Knocks’, the calendar will not only showcase the skaters, but also help to educate people on the rules.

I myself have been to a few bouts, and tried to figure out what these girls are doing?! How do they score, why did it stop, what’s with this Dumptruck guy? Hopefully this calendar will answer some of these questions.

Spot Gloss Award

Behold! The Spot Gloss Award A.K.A “one great use for Overnight Print’s short run orders.”

A little back-story… A colleague and I were ‘geeking’ out about the spot gloss on the logo of recruiting cards we just did for DEI (ok, I was geeking out, and he was humoring me). And henceforth started using the term ‘spot gloss’ to define little things that get you excited, that few (if any) people around you would appreciate at all.
