RiNo Relocation

November 12th, 2008 1 Comment

Well, I’ve done it. I purchased my first home and have relocated myself and Ryu Graphix to the RiNo district of Denver.

RiNo (River North Art District) seems very cool so far. I’ve mostly been dealing with moving and getting everything situated, but I’m hoping to wander around a bit over the weekend. After a look at their site I can see I’m in some good company (I knew I liked the place for some reason!)

Moving myself and my design studio has been a breeze so far (aside from 2 weeks without internet… gotta love forced vacations). I’ll be posting some photos up in the next week or so. Just wanted to say a big hello to the FireClay Lofts and RiNo Art District!

Mustache4Cash: The Unusual Suspects

October 24th, 2008 No Comments

A quick update on the October mustache for charity! It’s going well, and although I’m getting prety tired of this thing… I’m actually getting used to it (I can look in the mirror now).

Check out my profile here if you’d like to support me and my quest to raise some money to help at-risk youth: http://www.mustache4cash.org/users/386. Every little bit will help, and this is the final week.

To commemorate our journey, we took a group shot today. That, plus about an hour in Photoshop and we have the image below. Hope you enjoy! Write a comment if you dig it, or stop by my profile and share some monetary love! Happy Friday.

For the last month, I had the pleasure of working with the great team at Successful Living; helping them create collateral for their sponsorship of the Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure.

Mustache 4 Cash - “at-risk” youth fundraiser

September 30th, 2008 3 Comments

I’m taking part in a unique fundraiser. For an entire month, I’m going to grow a mustache (yes, a mustache) to raise money for at-risk youth here in the Denver Metro area. I’m doing this as part of a fundraiser called Mustache 4 Cash. You have the opportunity to donate to this fundraiser, which will benefit the Bryne Urban Scholars and Colorado Youth at Risk. You can click here to donate online.

You can track my progress here.

IF you want to join this debacle… our team is the HAIR Foundation — we’re up to $120 so far!

Manifest Hope Recap

August 28th, 2008 No Comments

A quick recap from the Manifest Hope show at the Andenken Gallery and an adjacent warehouse during the Democratic National Convention.

This was truly an inspiring art showing. I genuinely feel moved, more than I have by politics anyway in the past — it was very cool seeing so many younger people getting involved and showing their support. Yes, we can!

Shepard Fairey Donates an Original “HOPE”

Shepard Fairey Donates an Original \"HOPE\"

I’m passing this along from it’s original source at Joy Engine. I’ve loved this piece since I first saw it, and it’s really cool to see one of the originals.

Obama Hope“Shepard Fairey, the contemporary artist whose irreverent works have deconstructed the meaning and methods of propaganda, ironically became the creator of one of the most potent political images in recent history - the OBAMA “HOPE” poster. The image found such immediate resonance with Obama supporters that it became ubiquitous throughout the primary campaign and across the web.”

Justin Cline - Denver Colorado web design and graphic artist

Welcome to the brand new www.JustinCline.com! This is of course, my site; and I welcome you. It’s been ‘up’ for a few weeks now, but I finally got around to getting the contact form up, so now it’s official.

I started this as an outlet and way to inspire (myself, but if I drag a few of you along the way, so be it).

HOW Studio Tours

May 24th, 2008 1 Comment

I just returned from the HOW design conference in Boston. It was so cool being around 4,000 other creatives… truly inspiring. I’d have to say that the event that stood out most were the pre-conference studio tours. I’m really glad I got signed up for these.

We started out fairly early on Sunday. Our guide was magnificent – she definitely knew her Boston history, and was hilarious. I was delighted that we got to take some time and see some of Boston’s cultural and historical sights in between stops (the banter between her and her husband who was leading another bus was great as well).

How Design conference

One week and counting! I’m getting really excited about the adventure I’m going to be embarking on next weekend.

The HOW Design Conference ‘08 starts this weekend and I’ve gotten signed up for the whole enchilada. It looks like there are a ton of great sessions, and I’m looking forward to the full mp3 package of all the sessions (there are about 6 in each time slot, so I’ll be missing a lot!). However, I’m really anticipating the studio tours… I love that they will be showcasing a variety of sizes and types of design firms.
